Talked to a retired plumber at my nephew's cookout and he said something that made me rethink how I load the dishwasher.
He told me that spinning arm gets blocked by tall pots in the bottom rack all the time and that's why my glasses come out cloudy, so has anyone else had better luck running a rinse cycle before loading everything in?

Whoa hold on, a rinse cycle BEFORE loading is just wasting water for no reason. If your glasses are cloudy it's probably because you're using too much detergent or your water's too hard, not because of a pot in the way.

Heard a dishwasher repair guy say modern machines actually need some food particles to work right.

Are we really getting worked up over someone rinsing a dish before loading it? Seems like minor stuff to argue about.
