Showerthought: The consensus on the 'Neolithic Revolution' being a smooth transition is way off, in my view.
Working at a site in Anatolia, we found evidence of violent conflict layers directly under early farming settlements, which changed how I see that period. Has anyone else dug up data that complicates the 'peaceful farmer' narrative?

Yeah @the_lucas, like they fought for the good land first.

Whoa, violent conflict layers right under the farms? That's wild. I mean, we always hear about it like they just decided to settle down and plant some wheat. But if you're finding weapons or messed up bones in those layers, that changes everything. Maybe it wasn't a choice, maybe they were forced into it by fighting. That's a pretty dark way to start farming.
