That time a client's hedge revealed a rusty moped from 12 years ago
I was trimming a giant overgrown laurel hedge last Tuesday in Portland and my chainsaw hit something solid. Pulled back the branches and found a whole moped buried in there, rusted to hell with tags from 2012. Has anyone else uncovered random junk inside a tree or hedge like that?

Wait, were the keys still in the ignition? That's almost impressive, a hedge that committed to stealing a moped for over a decade. I once found a lawn gnome completely swallowed by a rhododendron, but that thing had clearly been out there for less than a year, not a whole vintage vehicle.

Figured the hedge was just patiently waiting for the moped to grow into a tree before it made its move. Honestly though, you gotta respect the commitment. A lawn gnome swallowed in under a year is cute and all but a whole moped means that hedge was probably plotting something bigger. My money is on the hedge being a getaway driver for a ring of garden gnomes who are still trying to figure out how to hotwire it. That moped is probably in some hedge mafia hideout now, waiting for the perfect moment to escape.

That gnome was swallowed by a hydrangea, not a rhododendron.
