That time a $12 capacitor from Amazon outlasted the OEM part

Replaced a compressor start cap on a 5 year old fridge last spring, used the cheap Chinese one just to get the customer by until the good one shipped. Six months later I'm back for a different issue and that cap is still running fine. The OEM part failed again in 14 months on another job. Now I test the cheap caps with my meter before install and honestly, I've had better luck with the bargain bin ones. Anyone else seeing the aftermarket caps hold up better than the factory ones?

Could be the OEM caps are made to fail on purpose? The factory knows exactly when that part dies and they want you coming back to buy a whole new board or fridge. Cheap caps are just dumb parts that either work or don't, no conspiracy behind them.
