My bet on a used washer pump backfired hard
Picked up a used drain pump off Facebook marketplace for $20 last Saturday to fix a GE top loader... hooked it up and it ran for maybe 3 cycles before it started humming and then died completely. Ended up having to order a new one for $65 from the local parts house and it got here yesterday. Anyone else have bad luck buying used parts like that, or did I just get a dud?

Had the same thing happen with a used alternator off craigslist a few years back. Ran fine for about a week then just quit one morning leaving me stranded in a store parking lot. Ended up costing me more in towing and lost time than just buying new would have. Some things you can get away with used but electric motors and moving parts are a total gamble.
