I compared a Samsung dryer to a basic Whirlpool and the difference was night and day
Had back to back calls last Tuesday, first a Samsung DV48 that needed a new heating element and thermistor. Took me almost 2 hours because of all the disassembly. Then a Whirlpool WED4815, same issue, heating element swap. I had it done in 25 minutes flat. The Samsung has all these panels and clips and nonsense while the Whirlpool is just pop the top take the front off and you're there. Why do manufacturers overcomplicate things that should be simple to fix? Anyone else find themselves dreading certain brands more than others?

That bit about "night and day" really hits home. I read somewhere that some brands design their dryers to be serviceable in under 30 minutes on purpose, while others just don't care about whoever has to fix them later.

Wait, do they NOT design them with the repair person in mind? That makes me SO mad. I've had dryers where you need to take the WHOLE thing apart just to get to a simple belt. And other ones where you pop off a panel and bam, everything's right there. It's like some companies actually give a crap about the person fixing it later, while others just want you to throw the whole thing out. Honestly, it tells you everything about a brand's quality right there. They're basically saying "we don't care if you can fix it, just buy a new one.
