Hushed the howling dryer at our local laundromat
A new drive belt was all it needed. The owner's smile made my week.

Used to think fixing old machines was a waste of time. Figured you should just get the new, shiny thing. But seeing a thirty dollar part save someone over a grand really flips that idea on its head. It's not about the stuff, it's about the person who owns it. That relief on their face is way better than any new appliance.

I read an article last month that said fixing a commercial dryer instead of replacing it can save a small business owner over a thousand dollars. It really stuck with me because we always hear about throwing things away. Something simple like a drive belt costs maybe thirty bucks, but a new machine is a huge expense. That's probably why the owner was so relieved and happy. It feels good to see a fix that easy make someone's whole week better. You ever notice how the small wins for small businesses are the most satisfying?

Wait the belt is only thirty dollars? I mean that's basically nothing compared to what a new dryer costs. No wonder the owner was so happy, that's a huge save.
