Check those dryer vent clamps, we had a fire call last Friday
I got called out to a townhouse complex in Arlington for a dryer that was tripping the breaker, but when I pulled the vent hose off the back, the clamp was loose and lint had packed into the wall pipe for a good 3 feet. The homeowner said they'd never touched the clamp since moving in 6 years ago, and the dryer was running hot enough to singe the hose. I've seen this twice this month now, both times the flex hose was just barely hanging on with a zip tie. Do you guys use proper metal clamps on every install, or do some of you still trust those plastic screw types? That call cost me 2 hours and a fire extinguisher, so I'm pushing this hard.

Plastic screw clamps are a fire waiting to happen, I pulled one off a dryer last month that had melted the threads right out of it. The homeowner swore they tightened it when they moved in, but that thing was basically holding on with pure hope and lint. Metal band clamps cost like three bucks, just use them and save yourself the heart attack.
