Unpopular opinion: the anime club at my local library in Fresno is better than any con I've been to
Went to the Fresno library anime club meetup last Saturday and there were like 20 people in a tiny room watching old shows on a projector that kept flickering. Nobody was selling anything, no crazy lines, just folks arguing about whether dubs or subs are better for two hours straight. The librarian running it brought homemade onigiri and a guy named Dave kept pausing the episode to explain why the 90s version of a certain show hits harder. Honestly it felt more real than the $80 con I went to in Sac last month where I mostly just stood in lines. Anyone got a local club like this where you live, or is it just me getting lucky here?
