Picked the subbed version over the dubbed one for a rewatch, now I can't go back

I rewatched Frieren with subs after 3 years of only watching dubs, and the voice acting in the funeral scene hit so different that I ended up redoing the whole season twice to catch what I missed, has anyone else made that switch and felt like they were watching a completely different show?
