I thought $40 for the full FMA Brotherhood box set at a garage sale in Fresno was a steal, then I got home
Disc 4 skips right through the Hughes funeral and disc 9 is literally a burned copy of Shrek 2. Anyone else gotten burned on a bulk anime lot, or is that just the risk of buying off a guy's driveway table?

Man, that burned copy of Shrek 2 on disc 9 is just brutal. I feel for you. Getting the Hughes funeral skipped is bad enough, since that whole scene hits hard, but popping in disc 9 and getting an ogre instead of the Promised Day is a whole other level of pain. Buying anime in bulk off some random driveway table is always a gamble, and I have been there with scratched discs that froze at the worst parts. At least the box and the art look nice on the shelf, even if half the discs are junk. Maybe check a local shop that resells used sets and see if they have loose discs you can swap in, because that set is worth saving.
