Just hit 1000 hours on my main drill and it made me think
I was cleaning my gear last night and checked the hour meter on my DeWalt DCD996. It read 1000 hours exactly. I got that drill about three years ago for a big apartment retrofit job. It hit me that I've spent over a thousand hours with that one tool in my hand, running wires and mounting panels. That's a lot of trust in a single piece of gear. It's never failed me, not even once. What's the most reliable tool you guys have run into the ground?

Honestly, that "never failed me" part hits home. I've got an old corded Makita angle grinder that just will not quit. It's ugly and the cord is patched with tape, but it starts every single time I pull the trigger. Feels like some tools just have a soul in them.

That old gear just gets better with age, @king.aaron.

My old drill is the same, it's ugly but it's got more guts than I do most mornings.
