Walked into a hangar in Phoenix and saw a cat living in a tool cabinet
Stopped by a small MRO in Phoenix last month to pick up a part and found a stray cat sleeping in an open drawer of a 40-inch Snap-on chest. Nobody working there seemed surprised, said the cat has been around for 3 years and keeps the mouse problem down. They named him Gearbox and he apparently sits on the wing of a 172 during oil changes. The lead mechanic told me he once brought the cat a blanket after a cold snap and now the cat won't leave his box. Has anyone else dealt with shop animals getting into your tools or work area, and do you just let them stay?

Having a cat around tools is a disaster waiting to happen, fur gets into everything and that wing sitting spot is a lawsuit if it spooks and knocks something over. The mouse problem is probably not even that bad, but one scratched hand off that blanket and nobody's laughing.
