Unpopular take: air fryer wings are overrated for large groups
I hosted a game night last Saturday for about 8 people and decided to make air fryer wings since everyone raves about them. I did three batches over 45 minutes since my basket is only big enough for 10 wings at a time. The first batch came out perfect, crispy and juicy. But by the time the third batch was done, the first ones were cold and soggy. Meanwhile my buddy brought over a tray of oven-baked wings he cooked all at once and they were just as good. I think the air fryer is great if you're cooking for one or two people, but for a crowd it's more trouble than it's worth. Has anyone else dealt with this issue when cooking for more than a few folks?

Yeah I learned this the hard way when I tried feeding my whole family with air fryer wings last Super Bowl. By the time batch four was done, batch one had the texture of cold leather. My cousin showed up with a five dollar pizza and everyone ate that instead.

dude i read something the other day that said air fryers are basically just small convection ovens and they can't hold enough heat when you overload them. so all that cold air rushing in when you open it just ruins the whole batch. sounds like thats exactly what happened here with your wings. i bet if you had a second air fryer running at the same time you could have pulled it off but who has money for two of those things.
