The day a kid's doodle became our cereal ad

I was stuck on a cereal project and needed fresh art. My little cousin was drawing monsters at the kitchen table. I took a photo of his sketch and added it to our pitch. The team thought it was genius and pushed it forward. We told the brand managers that our inspiration came from a six-year-old. They laughed but approved it after seeing the mockups. The ad ran in stores and got a lot of attention. Ever have a silly moment that actually worked out?

Last year, my kid's sidewalk chalk drawing got used in a community mural project. He was just making messy shapes, but the colors were bright and happy. I took a good photo and showed it to the people in charge. They said it felt more real than the fancy sketches from artists. It worked because we did not try to make it perfect. Letting things be messy sometimes gives you the best result.

My nephew's finger painting ended up on a local coffee shop's menu board.
