The hose reel at that Nebraska rest stop taught me a thing or two

Stopped at the I-80 rest area near Grand Island last month and watched a trucker coil a 100 foot hose in under a minute by looping it over his elbow instead of winding it, so I tried it on my 50 foot garden hose and now I'm curious if anyone else uses that flat coil method for storage.
