Pro tip: My home search took a full year to find the right fit

I looked at dozens of places before finding a house that checked all my boxes. The process felt endless, but rushing would have meant settling for less. Now I advise new buyers to give themselves plenty of time to look. Has a long search ever worked out better for you in the end?

Nah, I gotta disagree on this one lol. Waited too long on a place once and it sold. Sometimes you gotta move fast in this market.

The market right now is brutal for that. I saw a place go from listing to pending in under 48 hours last month. If you wait too long, you're out, and the whole search takes longer because you keep losing bids. Sometimes you have to decide with less info than you'd like. Perfect is the enemy of good here. I learned that by losing two places I really liked.

Ugh, I feel this so hard! My third offer got accepted because I literally viewed the place the morning it listed and put in an offer that afternoon. You just cannot wait for a second tour. My agent said to make the offer strong but with a really good inspection clause, so we could still check everything out after. It was scary but it worked.
