The cassette deck I rescued from a dumpster turned out to be studio-grade?
I found a dusty TEAC deck in a neighbor's trash pile back in March, figured it was junk but hauled it home anyway. After some new belts and a head cleaning, that thing plays my old mix tapes with a warmth my digital files just don't have. Part of me still thinks it's a fluke, but every time I hit play and hear that hiss, I'm convinced it was meant to be saved. Has anyone else stumbled onto a 'broken' piece of gear that ended up working better than expected, or am I just lucky with trash?
