Believed remote work hurt teamwork, but an easy group task changed my view.

Yeah the "smell each other's lunch" part got me. I used to be the guy who thought a meeting needed five people in a room to count. My bad teamwork was just asking about everyone's commute.

Wow, one whole group task changed your mind? That's all it took? My old manager thought remote work meant we were all just napping, until he saw our project finish two days early. It's funny how people think teamwork only happens if you can smell each other's lunch. Guess you just needed to see that everyone can actually reply to an email without being in the same room.

Remember doubting my team could handle a big project from home. We set up daily check-ins and used a shared doc to track progress. Turned out we got more done because people could focus without office noise. I mean, it's not about being in the same room, it's about clear communication. Now I see that trusting people to manage their own time works better than micromanaging.
