My stubborn no to travel insurance cost me big in Paris
I used to think travel insurance was just a waste of money. Last week, my flight to Paris got canceled out of the blue. I spent hours on hold with the airline, getting more frustrated by the minute. It was really annoying to watch people with insurance get new flights right away. I had to pay for a pricey last-minute ticket and a hotel myself. That whole mess made me see things differently. Now I won't travel without buying insurance first.

Feel for you big time. I got stuck in London once without insurance and had to pay for a whole new flight myself. Watching others get sorted quickly is the worst. Now I never skip buying it either.

Wow, I was the same way for years thinking it was just an extra fee. Then my husband needed a doctor in Rome and we paid out of pocket for the whole visit. That bill alone was more than a decade of insurance payments. I buy it for every single trip now, no question.
