Switching to complex carbs for breakfast has completely erased my midday fatigue on long planting days.

My uncle tried something similar by swapping his morning coffee for black tea, insisting the slower caffeine release would help his focus. By ten am he was mainlining cold brew from the gas station because the tea just made him jittery without the kick. He looked like a wet cat all week, hands shaking while he tried to read blueprints. Sometimes the fix is worse than the problem.

Have you considered how those carbs interact with your hydration during those long days? A lot of folks forget that glycogen storage pulls water into your muscles, which can actually leave you subtly dehydrated if you're not drinking enough (even if you feel energized). So that new breakfast might work even better with a conscious water strategy.

That subtle dehydration from glycogen storage is a classic trap. I made the same adjustment a few years back and still ended up with a crushing headache by noon until I figured out the water part. Now I force down an extra liter over the morning, which feels tedious but absolutely prevents the crash. Complex carbs give you the fuel, but they're pretty useless if your body is too busy rationing water to use them.
