Update: My chaotic sleep pattern led to a cool design break
I've been having crazy dreams from not sleeping well, all jumbled and vivid. Last night, I dreamed my logos were talking to me in a nonsense language. It was so funny I woke up and sketched it out. The sketches turned into a series of abstract character designs for a brand. Now I'm using dream journals as a mood board for client work. Sometimes a messed up schedule can give you fresh ideas, I guess.

Do those late-night brainstorms ever turn into something usable, or is it mostly garbage? I once woke up with a full plot for a novel, but my notes were just the word 'potato' repeated. Turns out my brain is a lot less clever when it's tired.

Totally get using dream journals as a mood board. I try to sort my notes by color or feeling so the chaos has some structure later.
