Just realized how much faster glass orders come in now
Back when I was new to glazing, I took on a repair job for an old church window. The glass had to be a specific kind of obscured texture that was hard to find. I placed the order and then just waited. Weeks went by with no update, and I was checking in every few days. The whole job was stuck, and I felt bad for the church folks. Now, I can often get that same glass in a couple of days with a quick online search. It really shows how things have changed for the better in our trade. Have you noticed how much shorter the wait times are for materials these days?

It's WILD how much faster everything moves now compared to just a decade ago. @carter.gavin's point about jobs stalling is so true, and it used to drive me NUTS. This speed-up is everywhere, not just our trade. I mean, you can get almost ANYTHING delivered in days now. It really has changed how we all work and live.

Oh man, tell me about it. Remember waiting six weeks for a custom router bit to finish some trim? That's just gone now. I ordered a specialty faucet cartridge last Tuesday, had it Thursday, and fixed the leak that Friday. The client was shocked. It used to be you'd have to put the whole project on hold, call the customer, give them the bad news. Now you just hit 'order' and keep working on something else. It takes so much stress out of the day.
