Update: Found out the average installer only makes it 8 years in the trade

Honestly, I was reading some industry report from a supply house newsletter and it said most guys quit flooring within 8 years. Ngl, that hit me because my crew from five years ago is almost all gone now. What's the main reason you think people burn out and leave?

Man, that's a brutal stat. I heard it's mostly the physical toll, like bad knees and backs from being on the floor all day. The money just stops being worth the pain after a while.

Absolutely, the body just gives out. My buddy was a tile guy for ten years and his wrists are shot, can barely open a jar now. He said the constant vibration from the wet saw did it, even with good gloves. Just traded his van for a desk job last year.

Yeah, my back's already making those noises and I'm only in my thirties. I swear it sounds like a bowl of rice krispies when I stand up. Guess I should start looking at those desk jobs now.
