A rushed vinyl plank job with no time to acclimate ended in total failure. Why do people skip this?

Rushing that step is just begging for trouble. Saw a job where the whole floor cupped like a potato chip because the boxes came straight from a cold truck into a warm house. Another time the planks shrank so much you could see gaps at every joint within a month. That material needs to sit in the room it's going in for at least two days so it adjusts to the humidity. Otherwise it's just an expensive mess. What was the guy thinking, that the instructions are just a suggestion?

Check the warranty paperwork sometime. Most flooring makers won't cover claims if you didn't let the stuff sit first. @tarab84 saw the buckling, but imagine fighting with the manufacturer over a ruined floor because you rushed. I've heard of guys losing their deposit or even getting sued by homeowners when things go wrong. It's not just about the wood moving, it's about who pays when it does. Skipping those two days turns a simple install into a legal headache real fast.

Used to believe you could fudge the acclimation time too, but then I saw a floor buckle overnight in a buddy's house. Total waste of money and now I'm a strict 48-hour rule person.
