Swore by wood for decades, but composite fencing is winning me over.
Used to think wood was the only real option, but composite saves so much time on upkeep. Which side are you on?

My neighbor switched to composite two years ago and it still looks brand new, no staining or warping at all. The upfront cost hurt a bit, but not having to spend every other weekend on maintenance is a huge win. Wood has that classic look, but it just can't beat the set-it-and-forget-it factor. I'm finally ready to make the switch for my own place next spring.

Has @the_nancy's neighbor seen any color fade after two summers in the sun? Good composite should hold up, but I've seen some turn grayish if it's not UV protected. Wood needs sealing every year to avoid that, which is a pain. The real test is how it looks after five years without any work.

How many weekends have you lost to wood maintenance over the years?
