Vent: A routine shoeing job dragged on for hours thanks to a stubborn nail
Had a regular appointment to shoe a calm mare yesterday. One nail just would not come out clean, it was bent and stuck deep. I spent over an hour just on that single nail, trying different tools and angles. My whole schedule got thrown off because of that delay. Maybe double check your nail puller's grip before you start, it could save you a ton of time.

Oil soak saved me hours on a stuck nail once lol.

What kind of oil did you use? I've heard people use the same trick on rusty bike chains.

Seriously, oil is like a MIRACLE for stuck stuff. It creeps into those tiny gaps you can't even see and breaks the rust's hold. That's why a long soak works SO much better than just spraying and pulling. I keep a little can of cheap motor oil just for jobs like that, way cheaper than WD-40. Let it sit overnight and that nail will usually twist right out, or a light tap will shock it loose.
