Talking to a guy at a startup event in Denver made me stop asking 'what do you do'
He said, 'I ask 'what problem are you trying to solve right now?' instead, and it instantly got us past the elevator pitch and into a real talk about his supply chain issue and my software background.'

Honestly it feels like a skill we're all losing. So many conversations now just spin in circles with polite filler. Getting straight to the point is almost a shock, but a good one. It saves time and feels more real. Wish more people felt okay doing it.
