Can we talk about door operator glitches in new builds?
I've been getting a bunch of service calls for doors that won't close right in newer apartment towers. The issue pops up most around morning and evening rush when everyone's using the elevators. Just yesterday, I spent hours resetting a system because the doors kept bouncing open. It's not just one brand, I've seen it across a few different models. From what I can tell, the problem might be linked to recent software patches that don't play nice with heavy use. We should all keep an eye on these updates and maybe double-check the logs after they're installed. It's creating delays and frustrating tenants. Let's share any fixes we find before this becomes a bigger headache.

Consider how new buildings settle under heavy elevator traffic, shifting door frames just enough to trick the sensors. That physical change, mixed with a sensitive software update, could explain the random bounce-backs. Might be worth checking the door alignment during those busy periods too.

Seen similar issues with automatic doors in high-rises. Just last month, a building downtown had doors that wouldn't seal properly every time the elevators were busy. The maintenance team found a software patch that changed the default pressure settings. We had to roll back the update and wait for a fix from the vendor. It's frustrating because these glitches make the whole system look bad. Checking compatibility before installing updates is now part of our routine.

Our building manager installed that same patch last Tuesday, and now the lobby doors have a fun new habit of closing on delivery guys. The update was supposed to "improve responsiveness" but just made the doors super jumpy, like they got scared by their own shadow. So we're back to the old software, and the doors are slow but at least they don't attack people. It's amazing how a fix for one thing breaks three other things you never thought were connected. I guess the lesson is never let a software update near a perfectly fine door right before lunch rush.
