Spent a whole Saturday chasing a leaky pipe behind a wall I didn't want to cut open
Everyone says "just cut the drywall and patch it after," but that patch cost me three trips to the hardware store and a mismatched texture that still bugs me two months later. Any tips on making drywall repairs blend in better without a pro sprayer?

Knock down the high spots around the patch with a damp sponge before it fully dries, it blends way better than sanding. Also try a can of orange peel texture from the hardware store and practice on cardboard first to match your wall's pattern.

Man I was all about sanding before, but you're totally right about the sponge trick.
