Caught my boss doodling a flowchart of our morning coffee run on a sticky note
He mapped out who goes where and how long it takes, but he drew stick figures with little coffee cups that looked like they were dancing. I asked him about it and he said it was the only way to keep the crew from getting lost on the way to Starbucks. Anyone else ever find weird desk art that tells a whole story?

Oh man that's amazing. I had a manager once who would draw these elaborate battle maps of our office kitchen during lunch rush. Like little x's marking where the microwave was and arrows showing the optimal path to the coffee machine without getting stuck behind someone heating up fish. The stick figures were always labeled with their actual names too which made it even funnier. Honestly those weird drawings made the whole office vibe way better than any corporate team building thing ever could.

Totally feel you on this. There's something about those weird, personal little traditions that just make a place feel like home. I used to have a coworker who made a "survival guide" for our break room that included a tier list of which fruit was safe to leave out overnight. It sounds dumb but it actually made everyone laugh and talk to each other more than any boring meeting ever did.

The "optimal path to the coffee machine" part is where I think people miss the point. Those maps aren't just funny, they're a form of social contract. You're basically saying "we all know the microwave is a warzone and the fish is a war crime, let's acknowledge it together." It's like making inside jokes about the office thermostat wars. Acknowledging the shared misery makes it less miserable.
