The $80 portable monitor that saved my coffee shop workflow

I kept booking Airbnbs with terrible desk setups, so I grabbed a cheap 15 inch portable monitor off Amazon before a 3 week trip through Lisbon. Plugged it into my laptop at a pastelaria near Baixa and suddenly I could run two spreadsheets at once without squinting. Still going strong 8 months later, but I've also seen people in hostels burn cash on fancier models that died after a few bumps. Anyone else rely on a budget second screen, or do you just make do with one display?

You ever catch one of those YouTube reviews where they drop a monitor to show how tough it is? I watched a guy do that with a cheap one and it kept working, but the expensive one cracked on the first bump. That kinda stuck with me. I've got a small 14 inch I pack for train rides, and it's been beat up in my bag for over a year now. The cable is the weak spot though, mine shorts out if I wiggle it too hard. So yeah, cheap can work, but you gotta treat the cord like it's made of glass.
