My 14,000 photo dump took 4 evenings, but I finally hit zero
3 years ago I started backing up everything to the cloud and told myself I would organize it later. Last month I hit 14,000 photos and videos just sitting there, and my phone storage was crying for mercy. I set aside one hour each night after dinner, no exceptions, and just went through them in chunks. Deleting blurry shots, duplicate screenshots, and 30 pics of the same sunset felt weirdly freeing. Now my Google Photos is under 3,000 and I actually know where everything is. The hard part was deciding what counted as worth keeping, since my grandpa always said photos are the only thing you can't get back. Has anyone else done a massive photo purge, and how do you decide what to trash versus keep for good?

Your grandpa had a point, but the "can't get back" trap keeps everyone hoarding crap forever. A blurry photo of your dog's butt is not a treasured memory, it's a storage problem. You made the right call.
