Found my old iPod in a drawer and it made me rethink cloud storage

Cleaning out my desk last weekend and dug up an iPod classic from like 2009. Charged it up and had 8,000 songs on there from my college years, all organized with playlists I forgot I made. Realized I've been paying $10 a month for cloud storage and still can't find half my stuff. Spent the afternoon moving everything local again, just feels safer somehow. Anyone else gone back to physical files after years of cloud everything?

8,000 songs on a 2009 iPod is like 40GB of storage minimum, that thing was probably loaded to the brim. Cloud is cool until you realize you're paying to lose stuff in a different drawer.
