Found 14 old email newsletters in my inbox and it took 3 hours to unsubscribe

I was cleaning my phone during a layover at O'Hare last week and decided to finally tackle my email. Turns out I was subscribed to a pet supply store I shopped at once in 2019 and a coding class I never finished. Spent the whole flight unsubscribing while my coffee got cold, but the inbox is finally under 100 now. How often do you guys go through and purge subscriptions, or am I the only one who lets them pile up for years?

Quit putting it off and just do a 15 minute sweep every month instead of waiting years. I read somewhere that the average person wastes like 8 hours a year just dealing with junk mail, which sounds about right. My trick is I unsubscribe from anything I haven't opened in 60 days, no exceptions. It also helps to use a separate email for online shopping so your main inbox stays clean. I used to let things sit too, but once I got under 50 emails it felt like a weight lifted. Now I just do a quick pass on the first Sunday of each month and it takes no time at all.

My buddy @stella_lane swears by this and finally got his inbox under 100 after years of ignoring it!
