The $8 brush set from the dollar store honestly shocked me
I usually only buy my brushes from the art supply shop downtown, figured anything cheaper had to be junk. Last month my sister tossed me a pack of these weird synthetic brushes she got on a whim, told me to try them for my background washes. Three paintings later and honestly the flat brush lays down color smoother than my $16 one. Has anyone else found random cheap tools that just work better than the pricey stuff?

Cheap synthetic brushes just act differently, not worse, that's all.

Gotta admit, the idea of dollar store brushes beating my $16 one honestly makes me want to throw my art supplies in the trash.
