A traditional artist laughed at my digital portrait
He called it 'fake art' during the exhibit. What's the weirdest comment you've gotten on your work?

My buddy does these cool abstract photos. Someone once asked if his camera was broken and told him to get a real camera. He just stared at them.

There's actually a fair point buried under the rude delivery. A digital undo button or a perfect gradient tool removes the physical risk and mastery of a real brushstroke. The struggle with permanent materials, where every mark counts, builds a different kind of skill. Calling it fake is harsh, but the ease of digital can make the final product feel disconnected from traditional craft. That handmade, one-of-a-kind object has a value a screen file just can't match.

I always figured digital art was just easier, not less real. Then I watched a friend paint with oils, and every stroke was permanent. Seeing her fix mistakes by working them into the piece, not just hitting undo, showed a whole different skill. Now I get why the physical stuff feels more earned, even if both take talent.
