Spent $400 on a 'universal' turbo rebuild kit that was missing half the parts

I was trying to save cash on a 6.0 Powerstroke job and the kit was a total mess... wrong gaskets, no thrust bearing. Some guys say cheap kits are fine if you know what you're doing, others say they're always junk. What's the worst aftermarket kit you've ever opened?

Remember the "complete" timing chain kit for an LS that came with exactly one guide and no tensioner. Had to argue with the seller for a week just to get a partial refund. Did your turbo kit at least have a brand name on the box, or was it just a white box special?

Wait, just ONE guide? That's not a kit, that's a cruel joke. I'd be so mad after opening that box.

Honestly, the worst one was a "full" suspension rebuild kit for an old truck. Opened it up to find bushings that were clearly the wrong size and ball joints with the wrong taper. Tbh you can make some cheap kits work, but you have to check every single piece against the old part before you even start. Sometimes it's just missing stuff, other times the parts are flat out wrong and won't fit at all.
