My neighbor's yard sale comment changed how I shop for groceries
Last Saturday I was talking with my neighbor Carol while she was pricing stuff for her yard sale. She said she only buys fruit that's on clearance now, even if it means eating it the same day or freezing it. I always thought buying marked-down produce was a gamble, but she showed me her freezer full of discounted berries and bread. So I tried it this week at the Kroger near my house and saved about $12 on stuff I'd normally pay full price for. Anyone else had luck with the clearance rack at their local store?
