Slow cooker vs pressure cooker for a beginner, which got the real win tonight?

I set out to make a simple beef stew after work and had to pick between leaving it all day in the slow cooker or rushing it in the pressure cooker, I went with the pressure cooker to save 4 hours but the meat came out stringy and dry, so did the convenience actually beat the flavor or should I have just planned ahead?
