Just realized I was tracking my small wins all wrong for 8 months
I keep a little note on my phone where I write down one win a day, and for about 8 months I was writing stuff like "got through my inbox" or "survived a rough meeting." Then last Tuesday I was rereading old entries and it hit me that almost none of them felt good to read back. A friend asked me why I bother keeping the list if it just sounds like a chore log, and I didn't have an answer. So now I'm stuck between two ways of doing it. One side says a win is a win, even the tiny boring ones, and you shouldn't judge yourself by how impressive the list looks. The other side says if the list makes you feel tired instead of good, you're writing the wrong things down and you should only log stuff that actually made you proud. I switched to the second way two weeks ago, and my list got shorter, like 4 entries a week instead of 7, but I actually smile when I read it. My sister thinks I'm overthinking it and should just be glad I'm doing it at all. So which is it, honesty about every small thing or only the stuff that counts? Curious how other people decide what makes the list.
