Hit 1,000 checkmarks on my daily to-do list and couldn't believe it
Ten years ago I laughed at my dad for keeping a paper planner, but today I filled in my 1,000th little box, and weirdly it hit me harder than my first paycheck did, has anyone else stuck with something long enough to surprise themselves like that?
Wait, how is filling in a box on a to do list anything like getting paid? A paycheck is money you can actually spend, and a checkmark is just ink on paper that means nothing to anyone but you. I get that it feels good to finish stuff, but calling it bigger than your first real job payment seems like a stretch. Did the boxes actually change anything in your life, or do you just like the little rush of crossing things off?
