My 8 year old dishwasher flooded the floor on taco night and I used every towel in the house
So last Wednesday I ran the dishwasher after dinner and walked back in ten minutes later to a puddle creeping across the kitchen tile. The door seal had gone bad and water was just pouring out the bottom while the thing hummed along like nothing was wrong. I grabbed every towel we own plus two beach towels from the garage, and my taco night turned into a mopping marathon. The repair guy quoted me $180 for a new seal on a machine that's already 8 years old, so now I'm stuck picking between fixing it or just washing dishes by hand forever. Has anyone dealt with a leaky dishwasher door and did you fix it or just give up on the thing?
