I finally chose the slow checkout line and it worked out weirdly well
At the Safeway on 4th Street yesterday I had two lanes open, one with a trainee and one with a pro who was flying. I picked the trainee because I was in no rush for once, and she took like 12 minutes with my 5 items. She even forgot to scan my bread and I got it free, so has anyone else had a slow line surprise them like that?

Slow lines are undefeated for free stuff (my kind of luck honestly). Trainee forgot to scan your bread and you just walked out a winner.
