My vet told me dogs dream about their owners, and now I watch my beagle sleep every night
I read this in a vet clinic pamphlet in Portland last week and it honestly surprised me. They said dogs likely replay smells and faces from their day during REM sleep, so when Biscuit twitches his paws at night he might be seeing me. Does your dog do the little running legs thing too?
Man, I don't buy it. My lab mix does the running legs thing and I'm pretty sure she's chasing rabbits, not picturing my ugly mug. Dogs live in a world of smells, so replaying their day probably means the garbage truck and the neighbor's cat, not us. Hate to break it to you, but Biscuit is dreaming about snacks. The pamphlet people know how to sell warm fuzzy feelings to pet owners. Watch him twitch all you want, he's not dreaming about you.
