Heated pet bed vs heated pad for my senior cat - I picked wrong
My 14 year old cat has been shivering at night so I had to choose between a full heated pet bed or just a heating pad. I went with the $30 electric pad from Amazon because it was cheaper and I already had her favorite bed. Big mistake. The pad got way too hot even on low setting and she refused to touch it for 3 days. I caved and bought the K&H heated bed for $60 and she curled up in it within 10 minutes. Now she sleeps in it 8 hours a night and the shivering stopped completely. Anyone else have a picky pet that rejected the budget option first?

Oh man, "picky pet that rejected the budget option" is basically my cat's middle name at this point. I tried a cheap heating pad too, and my old lady just gave me this look like "seriously, you thought this was okay?" The pad was either too hot or felt weird, and she wouldn't go near it for a week. She finally stomped over to her favorite spot on the couch and ignored me until I bought the K&H bed. Now she's glued to it all night, and I'm just glad she's warm, even if my wallet is crying a little. I swear my cat has better taste than me sometimes.

Ask her how long it actually took to forgive you. Like did she give you the cold shoulder for a full 24 hours or was it more of a slow burn over a few days where she'd still accept chin scratches but then walk away mid-pet? My cat does this thing where she'll sit on my lap but face away from me after I've wronged her, total passive aggressive move. I'm curious if yours has a specific grudge ritual too.
