Rushed a doodle for a contest, lost my $50 entry fee

I paid $50 to enter a quick sketch contest and submitted a messy 2 minute doodle without checking the rules. They required no text on the page and mine had a stupid caption scribbled in. Has anyone else eaten the cost on a silly entry mistake like this?
