That time a client's 'quick tweak' cost me 14 hours in Denver

I was three days from a launch deadline for a 40 page course site when a client emailed saying they wanted a whole new color scheme and font pairing. I was sitting at a coffee shop near Union Station when I got it, and I actually laughed out loud because I thought it was a joke. It wasn't, and instead of pushing back I just said yes and spent the next two days redoing every style sheet and template. The final result looked worse than the original, honestly, and the client admitted they just had buyer's remorse over the old palette. My mistake was treating every request like it had equal weight instead of asking what problem the change actually solved. Have any of you just said no to a scope creep request and lived to tell about it?
