Creators Hub meetup in Austin felt more like a sales pitch than a workshop
Went to the Creators Hub meetup in Austin last Saturday expecting to talk shop with other creators, but three of the four speakers just pitched their own paid courses for 40 minutes each. The one session that actually helped was a guy showing how he edits his videos on a $200 laptop, and he barely got 10 minutes. Is this happening at other city meetups too, or did I just pick a bad one?
Tbh this happens a lot when organizers let anyone with a course to sell grab a slot, so I usually check the speaker list before going and skip the ones that look like webinars. Next time find the smaller breakout groups after the talks, that's where the actual shop talk happens.
