The guy at the DMV counter in Boise told me I was holding up the line
Two years ago I went to renew my license at the DMV office on Vinnell Way in Boise. I had every paper they asked for, but the clerk looked at my proof of address and told me it was no good because it was a printout, not the real bill. I asked where that rule was written and he just pointed at a small sign taped to the counter and said I was holding up the line. I ended up driving 25 minutes home for a different envelope and coming back the next day, and he processed it in about 90 seconds without a word. Has anyone else run into a rule that only shows up on a taped up sign once you're already at the window?
